As a book editor,
I'll take your rough manuscript and make it publishable. I
will organize, edit, polish and typeset it according to
your wishes. It will be printer-ready.
I'll even help you
with promotion. Here's the opening website I designed for one of my
authors:
www.CaseyClements.com
Consider
self-publishing your book. There is a long
tradition of
self-publishing that includes such authors as
Mark Twain,
John Grisham, Wess Roberts, George Bernard Shaw, Virginia Woolf,
William Blake, Edgar Allen Poe, Rudyard Kipling, Henry David
Thoreau, Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Alexandre Dumas, Jane
Nelsen, Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki, Richard Nelson Bolles,
Rick Evans, Lee and Sue Fox, Tom Peters, James Redfield, Richard
Nixon, Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson, William Strunk, Jr.,
Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Ken Keyes, Jr., Gertrude Stein, Zane
Grey, Upton Sinclair, John James, Audubon, Beatrix Potter (of Peter
Rabbit fame), Carl Sandburg, James Joyce, D.H. Lawrence, Ezra Pound,
Edgar Rice Burroughs, Stephen Crane, Mary Baker Eddy, Anais Nin,
Thomas Paine, L. Ron Hubbard, William E.B. DuBois, and Robert
Ringer. This partial list comes from the master of self-publishing
himself, Dan Poynter, author of The Self-Publishing Manual.
A self-published
book, especially one with a history of some sales, has a MUCH better
chance of being picked up by a major publisher.
A manuscript at the
bottom of a slush pile has NO chance of being published or even
read.

Catfish Row was made famous by
Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess, which was based on
Charleston native DuBose Heyward's novel, Porgy. It was
inspired by the real life-1920s area in downtown Charleston
known as Cabbage Row, where vegetables were sold by poor
blacks. It is actually 91 Church Street, not far from Dock
Street Theatre, St. Philip's Church and the City Market.
Here's a beautiful print entitled Catfish Row by famous Charleston artist
Virginia Fouche Bolton.
